Cecilia Mattos is an interpreter of Portuguese (A language), English (B language) and Spanish (C language), and a member of the Professional Association of Conference Interpreters (APIC). She has a master's degree in Conference Interpreting and Translation Studies from the University of Leeds (UK), a bachelor's degree in Languages (English and Portuguese) from the University of Sao Paulo, and holds a Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) from the University of Cambridge (UK).
She has experience in simultaneous, consecutive and whispered interpreting in congresses, courses and meetings of different subjects, including medicine, dentistry, pharma, physical therapy, IT, engineering, education, business and others. Among the major events she has worked at as an interpreter are: the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio +20), the UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, and meetings with a World Bank delegation.
She has interpreted several national and international personalities, such as Iron Maiden's lead singer, Bruce Dickinson, TV hosts Luciano Hulk, Serginho Groisman, and Ana Hickmann, singer Leonardo, band Playing for Change, soccer player Bebeto, writer and entrepreneur Amir Klink, philosopher and historian Leandro Karnal, the former coach of the Brazilian national volleyball team, Bernardinho, doctor and best-selling author Drauzio Varella, presidential candidates Fernando Haddad and Marina Silva, and other Brazilian and foreign officials.
